Is an international platform for the promotion of Mexican music and Mexican musicians living in Europe.  It was created in 2008, in collaboration with the Mexican embassy in Copenhagen.  The goal of Sounds of Mexico is to create a local network - halls, audience, collaboration with local artists and local economic support - which will allow to have a festival on a yearly or biannual basis in each one of the cities that the project visits.

We present different programs, each one with a particular theme and identity, and including a wide range of composers, most of which are still alive and active today.  The result is a well rounded series in which the color and the richness of Mexico are explored and exposed through its music.

The festival offers its audience a taste of Mexican classical music and therefore, Mexican culture.  This culture is a mixture of ancient and rich traditions that results from a complex encounter between diverse and sometimes radically different realities.  Mexican classical music stems from the artists that look outside the geographical boundaries of their land.  It comes from a sensitive soul that tries to define its place in an aural world built by the cultures that represent this very term - classical.  It is music that learns from the tradition and parameters that define this term and at the same time pays tribute to the soil from which it grows.
